The foyer sofa is characterised by the interplay of wood and upholstery, and the backrest appears almost floating. Simple yet expressive, the legendary foyer sofa combines function and form in a sophisticated way. The Foyer series was designed exclusively by Vilhelm Lauritzen for Radiohuset in Copenhagen in 1945. Vilhelm Theodor Lauritzen was one of Denmark's most influential architects and a father of Danish modernism. Today, many of his projects are lasting examples of a new and revolutionary approach to architecture, where form followed function.
