Pen Duick was built in 1898 and was very successful in regattas until the 30s.Pen Duick is the most famous name for a series of ocean-going racing yachts sailed by French sailor Eric Tabarly. What means great in Breton was the name given by Tabarly's father, Guy Tabarly, to the Fife gaff cutter he bought in 1898, on which his son learned to sail.
