Poire (The Pear) by Québec-based artist Philippe Lareau aims to begin a dialogue with the viewer by playing with elements of scale and perspective. A warm but muted background of peach and warm gray allows the central cut pear to control the composition from an angle that is neither near nor far. Lareau's deliberate use of cropping and oblique perspective attracts the viewer, while the use of warm complementary colors helps create a calming scene. Note: Poster frame is not included.
