Carl Hansen Ch44 Lounge Chair Oak Smoke Colored Oil, Natural Cord

The CH44 Lounge Chair from 1965 by Hans J. Wegner is simplicity in absolute perfection. The chair is equipped with Wegner's characteristic, defined connecting pieces between the front legs and armrests as well as grooves at the top of the hind legs on which a back cushion can be suspended. The armrests rise slightly towards the rear legs, becoming narrower and narrower, elegantly reinforcing the vertical connector. The overall impression is remarkable and the result comfortable. The simplicity of the design is inspired by the principles of American shaker furniture, which was also the inspiration for Wegner's closely related CH46 and CH47 chairs. The CH44 Lounge Chair is made of solid wood with a durable seat made of paper cord. It is available with optional seat and back cushions and the matching low CH53 footstool for added comfort.
