Kähler Astro Figure, Capricorn 25 Cm

For her new astro sculptures, the Danish sculptor Malene Bjelke was inspired by Kähler's long history, in which figures occupy a special place. The result is 12 sculptures dedicated to the twelve signs of the zodiac. They represent a modern interpretation of Kähler's design heritage, which began in the historic ceramics workshop in Denmark, and at the same time have a spiritual focus. All zodiac figures are made of white, unglazed stoneware and have a silhouette-like look. Due to their emphatically raw design, the naturalistic details of the figures acquire a special dynamism and can be viewed from any angle, as in sculptures. Each astro sculpture has been tagged with a word that reflects the values associated with each zodiac sign. The energy of the characteristic features of each sign of the zodiac is expressed through the design of the sculptures.
