With 4 shelves (deep 30 cm) designed by Poul Cadovius, 1948 ROYAL SYSTEM® shelving system was designed in 1948 by the legendary Danish designer and manufacturer Poul Cadovius. It was one of the first wall-mounted furniture systems in the world, and the idea that furniture shouldn't take up space was innovative. "Most of us live on the bottom of a cube. If we equate the walls with the floor, we get a lot of space to live," was Poul Cadovius' mantra. There have been many attempts to copy this famous design, but ROYAL SYSTEM® is and remains the original. KÖNIGLES SYSTEM ® consists of wall-mounted wooden rails, shelves with hangers made of brass or stainless steel and various modules such as cabinets, drawers and desks, which can be individually designed in many individual combinations - Poul Cadovius even claimed that the original system had 16 million possible combinations.
