Muubs Kuri Serving Bowl, Stone

The Kuri stoneware series is made from the old traditional Japanese craft Kurinuki, where you create designs out of spontaneity to make the stoneware "come alive". In the kurinuki craft, you start by creating the design from a raw lump of clay, then it's hands and simple carving tools that create the basic shape, then it's polished and glazed. Kuri is made with natural organic shapes that have a rough edge from the traditional craft method. The serving bowl has a smooth glaze that gives the design additional edges and sets a graphic contrast. This contrast also helps make the rough clay Kurinuki surface silky soft and food-safe.
