The NINOTCHKA is a true and easily identifiable design icon, designed by Bent Karlby in 1954. When designing this lamp, Bent Karlby was inspired by a striking hat worn by Swedish Hollywood star Greta Garbo in her 1939 film Ninotchka. The organic structure with its asymmetrical drapery ensures a functional and direct downward directed light as well as a diffuse upward-directed ambient light.
