Carpet Earth made from recycled fishing nets from MUUBS. Did you know that fishing nets account for 46% of plastic pollution in the world's oceans? The fishing nets can swim around for years and pose a threat to marine life. In cooperation between MUUBS and EGE Carpets, the carpet Earth was created. The patterned carpet is made from the sea by physically and chemically broken fishing nets, which are subsequently transformed into strong yarn from which the large carpet is woven. With the flat-woven carpet you get a sustainable textile solution for the floor, where the pattern is inspired by the surface of the earth. Both the pattern and the raw edge of the carpet were designed by MUUBS. The pattern of the rug does not vary from carpet to carpet, as is the case with the Hudson and Missouri carpet.
