Arne Jacobsen needed no less than five years to develop the Oksen™. In contrast to many of his earlier pieces, which are characterized by round, organic shapes, this armchair has much sharper outlines. Arne Jacobsen always wanted to surprise the public, and Oksen was a project he returned to repeatedly with many variations in 1962-66 before taking its final form in 1966. In fact, it can be described as the largest and most striking chair that Arne Jacobsen has ever created.
