A modern reinterpretation of the original BISTRO French Press coffee maker from 1974.The carafe is made of stain-resistant, heat-resistant borosilicate glass that will not alter or affect the natural taste of the coffee. The glass is framed with a stylish stainless steel strap that serves as a holder for the heat-resistant black plastic handle. The stainless steel piston prevents the coffee grounds from escaping when the coffee is poured out. More environmentally friendly than most other coffee making methods – no paper filters or plastic capsules required. Easy to use and clean. Dishwasher safe.Use and careThe French Press system is the easiest way to brew rich, aromatic coffee. Place the BISTRO NOUVEAU on a flat surface, hold the handle tightly and pull the plunger up and out of the carafe. Add one heaping teaspoon or one bodum spoonful of coarsely ground coffee per cup or 120 ml of water. Pour hot water (about 92–96 ºC) into the carafe, leaving at least 2.5 cm of space at the top, and stir the coffee with a plastic or wooden spoon. Place the plunger on the jug and turn the lid so that the spout is closed to preserve the heat. Let it steep for four minutes, then slowly push down the plunger. Turn the lid to open the spout and pour yourself a delicious cup of coffee. Before first use, clean in warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
