Our range of hand-woven Hem Rugs makes beneficial use of used plastic bottles: each sustainable design is made from recycled PET yarn and offers a soft yet durable surface that feels woolly and can be used well both in your home and outdoors. The flat-woven carpet is decorated with asymmetrical rows of fringes that emphasize its artisanal style. Using specialized technologies, the Hem series introduces a sustainable textile line made entirely from used plastic bottles. Each Hem Rug is made from 530 bottles. This process gives you extremely durable designs while helping to clean up the oceans. Plastic carpets, cushions and mats may not sound like textiles that feel soft to the touch, but with the Hem series, you won't crave virgin wool anymore. These textiles are not only practical, easy to clean and suitable for outdoor use, but also feel just as comfortable as other designs.
