Did you know that fishing nets account for 46% of plastic pollution in the world's oceans? Fishing nets can drift around for years and pose a threat to marine life. The Earth carpet was created in collaboration between Muubs and Egetæpper. The carpet with pattern is made from physically and chemically degraded fishing nets from the sea, which are then transformed into strong yarn from which the large carpet is woven. With the flat-woven Earth rug you get a sustainable textile solution for the floor, where the pattern is inspired by the surface of the earth. Both the pattern and the cut edges of the carpet were designed by Muubs. The carpet pattern does not vary from carpet to carpet as is the case with the Hudson and Missouri carpets.
