Arne Jacobsen designed the Munkegård fixture for Munkegårdsskolen in Søborg, Denmark in 1955. This was the first recessed fixture which illuminated the ceiling, thereby evening out light contrasts.The fixture had a discreet presence in the room, in line with Arne Jacobsen´s architectural Ansatz.
